In the #UK under the Coastal Protection Act 1949 it is illegal to remove pebbles/sand from all beaches across the United Kingdom.
Everyone who has visited the #Beach in the UK has taken pebbles at some point in there life however taking pebbles from the Beach in the UK is actually illegal and can land you with a £1,000 #Fine.
This also means that if it`s illegal to remove any sand from the beach it is also illegal to walk home with sand in your shoes as it is legally classed as a removal of natural matter from the #Sea.
Should you take pebbles from the beach despite it being a criminal offense?
Technically no as it is a crime however the law is usually only enforced when there are signs up at the beach stating that any such removal is illegal or if you are taking ridiculous amounts of pebbles ie more than 20 pebbles then you may receive a fine, it would be unfair to receive a fine just for slipping a pebble or two in your pocket, if you feel that the fine was unfair you should seek legal advice from a solicitor immediately.
The law should only be enforced when someone takes a truckload or more than 50 pebbles from the beach or if there are signs up warning you of a fine or any other penalty charge.
