A famous singer - Ed Sheeran - and two of his songwriters were taken to the UK's High Court over unproven allegations of "multiple copyright violations" - but Judge Zacaroli ruled that there was no intentional breach of the accuser's legal rights, dismissing the case.
Singer Ed Sheeran and two of his songwriters were accused of using Artist Sami Chokri's lyrics from his song, Oh Why, for their song, Shape of You; however, the case was dismissed as no intentional breaches of Sami's legal rights could be proven in court. The Famous Singer, Ed Sheeran, said he suffered with his mental health during Sami's lawsuit.
The Judge, Zacaroli, ruled that Ed Sheeran and his songwriters did not steal any of Sami's lyrics, and the case was dismissed.
Mr Sheeran slammed Sami's lawsuit, saying accusations like this are "damaging to the songwriting industry". He added: "I`m not a corporation; I'm a son, human being, and father who has feelings."
It seems like the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer. Sadly, this is how the courts seem to work in the UK and USA, and most people don't appear to agree with rich people filling their pockets and poorer people losing out.
