Updated: Apr 10, 2022

If you decide to carry a knife, you are more likely to be seriously injured or even killed with your own weapon; for example, Murder Victim Devoy Stapleton was murdered with his own knife back in 2018. You are three times more likely to be injured with your own weapon, according to a First Aid for Life article.

If you are caught carrying a knife, you will be arrested on the spot by police. After you have been arrested, you may be taken to court where you can face up to four years imprisonment and/or an unlimited fine. If you kill someone with the knife, you are looking at a potentially lifelong jail term. Police are not obliged to let first-time offenders off with a simple caution for possession of a bladed article.

Do most people carry knives? No. Most people do not carry knives, and this is a common myth. Only a small minority of people carry weapons; in fact, only cowards carry weapons because they're too scared to use their fists in a fight.

Knife crime is not just a problem in big cities or between gangs; it's an epidemic across the whole of the UK, and it affects everyone; however, you can do your bit by sharing this article and putting your knife down (if you carry one).
