Stephenson Academy staff are managing the Global Covid-19 Emergency with all of their best efforts compared to most other schools across the #UK
There is however some issues with Stephenson Academy's 'COVID19: Risk Assessment and Action Plan'.
According to Stephenson Academy's PDF "Inclusion Unit is available for any students who significantly breach social distancing and whose home is not considered appropriate".
No student/pupil especially with sen needs should be marched into isolation for not following Government Covid-19 Guidelines, it is unfair to march students into isolation for not following advisory measures because Coronavirus Guidelines are not the law the same goes for any guidance whether it`s Baking Guidance or Coronavirus Guidance (Guidance is Guidance).
Stephenson Academy are also enforcing advisory social distancing measures in forms even though in a school as a whole especially in a classroom students and staff are in a bubble.
I think that Stephenson Academy should not use isolation for certain students for not following Covid-Secure Guidelines and should instead send the pupil home
If home is not an option they should be sent to the hub, isolation is an unfair strategy.
Note: When the student is sent home it should be made clear that they are not in any trouble and that it is not an exclusion.
Stephenson Academy's COVID19: Risk Assessment and Action Plan most certainly needs some changes.
Please share this article so that Stephenson Academy get the message that there Covid-19 Plan might not be the best of ideas for certain students with sen difficulties.
