How bad is bullying, and how can we help prevent it?

Updated: Jun 3, 2022

Bullying has affected almost everyone, s we need to stand up to bullies so that they don't take the absolute piss out of us.

Bullying has affected one in every four people, according to Perpetual Fostering's #Bullying Statistics (view by clicking this link).

What is bulling? Bullying is classed as any behaviour which is intended to harm someone emotionally, physically, or socially.

How can we help prevent bullying? If we see someone being bullied, we should report it to the relevant people to sort the issue out. However, if you are bullied, you should report it. You can also retaliate to your bully, treating them the same way they treated you.

We should stand up for those around us, and ourselves, to make make it clear that bullying will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Here are some ways to deal with bullying:

  1. report it;

  2. expose it online;

  3. retaliate (providing it is safe to do so);

  4. inform the police, or file a lawsuit, if the bully has commited a serious crime against you;

  5. ignore it;

  6. don't allow anyone to mistreat you or anyone else;

  7. video them without them knowing (with a hidden camera).
