Updated: Sep 7, 2021

#Police in New Zealand have blasted bullets at an '#ISIS Extremist', who stabbed around 'six people' in a supermarket.

Jacinda Ardern, New Zealand's Prime Minister, said the stabbings were "ISIS inspired".

At 'Countdown Superstore', in Auckland, New Zealand, customers were running out of the store, 'in severe levels of fear, and distress', as the terrorist helped himself to a knife, and stabbed around 'six people', leaving them seriously injured, according to New Zealand Police.

Police officers shot the man in under one minute of the attack, and killed him, according to New Zealand's Prime Minister.

The man was said to have been arrested previously for 'planning a terrorist attack, and possessing ISIS video footage, as well as purchasing hunting knives. The man was also only just released from jail, according to police.

The terrorist is said to be 'thirty-two years old', and a 'serious threat to the public', according to The New Zealand Herald.

New Zealand's Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, said: "A violent extremist undertook a terrorist attack on innocent New Zealanders. He obviously was a supporter of ISIS ideology."

"What happened today was despicable."
