Royal Sussex County Hospital secured by police after stabbing incident

Police worked to secure a hospital in Brighton this morning after a member of staff was injured in a stabbing incident.

A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following the incident at Royal Sussex County Hospital.

Police said: “The hospital site was quickly secured while officers have been working with security staff to confirm that nobody else has been injured, and that staff and patients are safe.” Police said the injuries to the victim, a man in his fifties, were not considered to be life-threatening.
