The incident happened around two months ago.

Footage of a teacher forcibly removing a pupil from a classroom and throwing him on the floor has circulated on social media and is being investigated by the Council. However, the police weren't called and, therefore, didn't arrest the member of staff.

The local authority refused to provide a detailed statement to the media but did say that the School's bosses are aware of the incident. They said that all of the appropriate processes are being followed by the Town Hall but didn't go any further.

Common assault is a summary offence, and offenders can be jailed for up to 6 months if found guilty in a magistrates' court.
