According to https://www.newscientist.com/article/dn14114-science-of-mentos-diet-coke-explosions-explained/ When mint or fruit Mentos are dropped into a fresh bottle of Diet Coke, a jet of Coke whooshes out of the bottle's mouth and can reach a height of 10 metres. Theories abound as to why this happens, with some bloggers speculating that it is an acid-base reaction because Coke is acidic.

To perform the experiment you will need: 1x 500ml bottle of coca cola, and 5-7 mint mentos. You will now need to open the bottle of coca cola and put it on a flat surface (preferably outdoors), now you will need to add your mentos to the bottle (all at once). Now watch what happens.
Safety tips: If you are under 8 years of age, or are considered vulnerable in any way which may affect the experiment, then please ensure that you are supervised by a trusted adult/older friend. You may wear science safety goggles if you wish, along with any other safety gear (these are optional).
