Five teenage boys had been previously arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, and attempted murder, however, they were released on strict bail terms.

Police confirmed three of the boys were rearrested as part of the proceeding investigation.

Sussex Police said: “After extensive enquiries, two of the boys were released with no further action. The three other boys were rearrested on Wednesday, April 28, to allow police to re-interview them in relation to the ongoing investigation. They have since been released on conditional bail while the Crown #Prosecution Service considers all the evidence. Police continue to appeal for any witnesses to the assault to come forward, including anyone who saw any suspicious behaviour in the area around that time or who may have seen people running from the scene. Anyone with information is asked to contact police online or by calling 101 quoting Operation Swallowtail. Information can also be passed to police anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers online or by calling 0800 555 111."
