Youngsters shot in West Sussex for no reason

Two boys, 11, and 12, were shot by an air gun whilst they were playing #football, said #Sussex #Police.

One of the two boys was shot in the arm, once, and the other was shot once in the leg, according to police.


This happened in Oak Way, Northgate, #Crawley, West Sussex, #UK.


A spokes lady for Sussex Police said: “The 11-year-old was treated for his injuries at Crawley Hospital. The 12-year-old did not require hospital treatment."


“Police made immediate enquiries, and a 47-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, and of firing an air weapon in public.”


The airgun was seized by police for investigation, and the man has been arrested for interview.
