Phone triangulation is a useful tool that allows the police to capture dangerous criminals, find missing people, and locate potential victims. However, this can easily be misused but is reportedly regulated.
A power available to the police, 999 operators can also triangulate a phone to locate a caller in an emergency or if thejr call is believed to be a hoax (prank). The National Crime Agency (NCA), intelligence services, and military also have this power.
