Child dies in car crash

A boy - aged 11 - has sadly passed away in a deadly car crash on the M23 near Southampton on December 26th.

The boy and his family were driving down the M23 in a red Nissan Qashqai at around 8:50am.

The 11-year-old preteen was rushed to Southampton General Hospital in critical condition and sadly passed away there.

The driver of the vehicle, aged 61, has been seriously injured in the crash and is now facing potentially lifelong and permanent damages.

A woman, 48, and a girl, 9, suffered from only minor injuries and were treated at Southampton General Hospital.

The boy's family are being helped to cope with his death by Hampshire Constabulary.

Hampshire Constabulary are asking members of the public who saw the incident or have any footage to contact them.
