Comment & Analysis: Putin is a war criminal, and he must be stopped

Russian President Vladimir Putin has committed serious war crimes against the Ukrainians, and it's about time that we stop him and his army of thugs from invading Ukraine and hurting its citizens.

Many Ukrainians — including vulnerable and disabled children, women, and men — are being seriously injured, sexually assaulted, and murdered on their own streets by Putin's army of thugs. The Russian Government appears to be getting away with it all, according to most of society.

The Russian people are being fed untruthful propaganda and lies by their state media; therefore, they are unaware of what the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, is doing to the innocent Ukrainian people. If Russia's citizens were aware of how Putin is treating the people of Ukraine, then there would likely be a civil war.

The argument for countries stopping Putin by force is that he needs to be held to account, and this is true; however, this would likely result in a world war, so our governments need to balance out risks and safely hold Putin to account. Another risk of stopping Putin is larger countries — including India, China, North Korea, and a few others — taking offence to governments standing up to the war criminal, Russian President Vladimir Putin. Why would some countries take offence to Putin being held to account? Because they obviously support a war criminal.
