Most councils face local elections today with only two exceptions — Hastings District Council and Adur District Council — reports the Littlehampton Gazette.
Taking part in local elections gives residents a voice and allows them to help choose their councillors, and each vote makes a major difference to who could sit in their council and how it will operate.
Voters will need to bring a valid form of identification before being permitted to vote and can only do so where registered.
