The authorities have been urged to treat bullying more seriously after reportedly failing to address the issue sooner.
Causing harassment, alarm, or distress has been against the law in the UK for over 20 years. However, the police often say "it's a civil matter" and ignore the offence. This has caused major upset in society and is being discussed across the country in a desperate attempt to prevent bullying.
Statistics show that victims of bullying are at an increased risk of struggling with their mental health, but this doesn't seem to be enough for the Government to take action.
