Man detained in Portsmouth

A violent man has been thrown to the floor and detained by a group of security guards in Gunwharf Quays at around 2:10pm this afternoon.

Security guards were quick to respond to a serious threat to other members of the public by throwing the violent man to the ground and calling for the police to arrest him for breach of the peace, potential assault, and public order and antisocial behaviour charges.

The man was aggressively screaming at the top of his lungs. The man was also threatening other members of the public and security guards.

The incident attracted many by passers to watch the incident and record with their phones, however, this made the man act more aggressive and start threatening people and causing conflict with other members of the public.
