I visited the seafront earlier today, and I found the area and its visitors to be quite relaxed.
The seafront appeared to be a tidy and well-maintained area. Arun District Council regularly remove litter and chewing gum from the promenade, making the area look nicer and tidier.
People seem to be quite relaxed on the seafront, and they also seem to mind their own business most of the time.
Wildlife — mainly seagulls and birds — seems to enjoy the area. However, I didn't notice any birds' nests near the seafront, but this could be because there's not many trees around the area.
The sea can smell of sewage sometimes. However, the smell seems to have stopped now. I couldn't smell any sewage this morning.
The seafront is a great place to visit when the weather is nice. However, during bad weather, the last place most people would want to visit is the seafront unless they want to be freezing cold and/or soaking wet.
